The Booth at the End

To quote the synopsis:

"A mysterious Man sits at a booth at the end of a diner. People approach him because theyve heard The Man has a gift. He can solve their problems: A parent with a sick child, a woman who wants to be prettier, a nun who has lost her faith. The Man can give these people what they want. For a price. The Man makes a proposition. In exchange for realizing their desires, these individuals must complete a task, return to The Man, and describe every step in detail. The trick is that these tasks are things that would normally be inconceivable to them. But The Man never forces anyone to do anything. Its always up to the individual to start - or stop. The Booth at the End asks the question: How far would you go to get what you want?"

It's done in a series of vignettes. I think it's really wonderful (be warned, though, playing is interrupted periodically with ads).

It's got elements of both the fantastic and the horrific, so I went with Gallimaufry over fantasy or horror discussion. I think it would appeal to fans of either genre, and even people who aren't usually fans of either.

Good find!  I really enjoyed the first episode.

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?
Five pounds?  Six pounds? Seven pounds?

Quick note - this series is on Hulu, and not playable from outside the US.

Aw shoot, I didn't realize stupid Hulu had those kinds of restrictions. How awful. Those jerks.

This reminds me of the story that Pod Castle ran... called The Curandero and the Swede: A Tale from the 1001 American Nights. There is a part there where the truck driver goes to talk to this guy in a booth and everyone goes to him for help with some weird stuff... then of course there is the Curandero himself.

I'll definitely have to check this out!
