Hi all!

I listen to a bunch of speculative fiction podcasts (all three Escape Artists, The Dunesteef, BCS, StarShipSofa, Clarkesworld, Lightspeed, The Drabblecast...) and quite a while ago now I heard a story that I loved. For the life of me I can't remember the title or even which podcast it was on.

It was about a princess caught in an aging castle. She throws a party but the guests are mostly too worn out to come. We learn that the castle is actually a very old spacecraft and she's an AI of some sort. At the end a couple of salvage guys show up and try to take control of the ship. She (or a different aspect of the same AI) doesn't allow it and does away with the salvage crew.

So! What story is this???

Much obliged!

I don't think that's an EP story.  It might be from one of the other podcasts you mentioned.  (I read CW and Lightspeed intermittently, but I don't listen to them, and I don't listen to Starshipsofa at all.)

Oh, yeah - I remember that one! It was on Clarkesworld. :)

"Night, in Dark Perfection," by Richard Parks.

Very cool, weird story.
