I hereby announce with head held high that yes, I have adored every Pixar release, with the possible exception of "Cars".  (I'm just not a car person, I guess.)  I wasn't expecting much from Ratatouille, and was pleasantly surprised by it.  Now, they are doing "Wall*E" this summer.

Brad Bird doesn't seem to be associated with this one (loved Iron Giant, and The Incredibles; he directed Ratatouille, too..ee).

Andrew Stanton (who voiced the turtle in Finding Nemo) is directing Wall*E; too early to tell exactly what it will be about.  I guess my main reservation stems from the fact that they introduced the trailer on the Ratatouille disc by saying that this was the last idea they came up with back in 1995 when they sat around coming up with ideas for feature films.  Good batch of ideas... but are they telling us this is the bottom of the barrel?

Anyway, I can't make up my mind: should I force my expectations lower than usual, or allow the anticipation to overwhelm my common sense?

(And as a musical cross-reference: "Greasy Kid's Stuff" is a Steve Vai track NOT on his fantastic album, Alien Love Secrets.  Feel free to drop by my last.fm profile -http://www.last.fm/user/tadmaster/ - if you want to talk tunes.)

Pixar is more about story than any other studio.  I won't get all excited and jumpy, but I expect good things.
