Greetings!
So I am starting to take soft bites out of this forum in an attempt to figure things out and get acquainted with Escapepod. If this is the wrong place for an introduction thread, let me know and I'll happily move to another area.
I've been a Sci-fi fan for as long as I can remember. My first introduction being with Star Trek, and my second being Dune (read to me by my father when I was 13 or so). From there I have quickly increased my ingestion of fiction, and slowly began my own production of it. But, given the last sentence, you can figure out how highly I rate the current product.
At any rate, I have been listening to Escapepod for the last six or so months. Finally having caught up with the old archived episodes, and I feel confident in testing the waters here. Steve's re-capping of memorable forum posts has finally drawn me out of my shell, and I look forward to getting to know everyone here.
As for the technology, if you read reddit, I am sure you have heard about it... but I cannot help but feel excited by the Bae Institutes's Photonic Laser Thruster (PLT)
