Well I found this whole thing terribly hilarious and thought I would share it...

Here's the original article : http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/w0009322.html
And here's the truth from someone who was there : http://www.planetary.org/blog/article/00002882/

Amazing how rumours get around...

Hehe, awesome.
Hilarious yes, 'amazing' no.  This is the kind of thing that happens all the time to journalists trying to compete under incredibly tough editorial pressure (I used to work for a newspaper-- couldn't handle it myself.)  At least it was about scifi movies this time and worst case scenario we can all still agree that 2012 was terrible.  I think fiction writers would be surprised sometimes to find how much harder it is to write about reality.

Are you kidding?  That's WHY I write fiction.  I just have to make it sound plausible.

LOL! Yes, I meant "amazing" the way people say "funny" when they really mean "strange"  ;D

What? That NASA list wasn't real?
 :o
Next thing you''ll be telling me that the NY Times Best Seller List has nothing to do with sales.
Or popularity.
Or ... anything.
