Holy living fuck, that was not only the worst of the Who Christmas specials, it was one of the worst episodes of the 21st century.

What happened? I remember when "Written by Steven Moffatt" meant "Made of WIN!" Now he first drops the ball with that lame reveal about who River Song really is, and then gives us crap like this year's special. I guess the Brain Eater comes for them all, eventually.

This was the first Christmas episode where nothing horrible happened. Sometimes that's okay.

All cat stories start with this statement: “My mother, who was the first cat, told me this...”

It was good - not Doctor Who at its best, but very far from Doctor Who at its worst.

Though I'm hardly surprised StepH didn't like it, given that it features two children as major characters.

I don't mind children being characters. I mind weak, trite scripting and dumbass plotting.

Kibitzer: I haven't been able to keep up with the EA podcast stories lately; I'm stalled around the late October episodes.
