As Steve said he was coming on a visit over here I thought we might have a game of Mornington Crescent to celebrate the occasion. Most of the Founding Fathers of the United States were avid Mornington Crescent players, so we'll play by Franklin's Amendment, which will put British players at a disadvantage but what the hell.

East Putney.

I think that leaves Ravenscourt Park open, on a Stythian diagonal.

'Stythian'? Ouch! You're playing hard straight out of the gate aren't you?

And after sirana's little sleight-of-hand there, I have to go with

Farringdon.

The orthodox greek variation? That's pushing it, why not go for the Tudor Court Rules while you're at it?
Back to Queensway via the W-tangent.
Slic, you're in Spoon. Let's see how you like it.

I petition for late entry to this match under the auspices of the Pope Pious VII rulings.
Accordingly my opening move will be restricted to the Hammersmith and City Line.

Well, anyone is welcome to join the game when they feel, but we'll have none of your Popish Mummery here, it's a well-known and documented fact that when Luther nailed his document to the door of the church it was next to a shocking and some might say sacrilegious dissertation on the German version of 'Mornington Crescent', people that couldn't see that document read his instead. If he'd nailed it a few more feet to the left Protestantism may never have started.

Kilburn Park.

Bloody hell, forget it. I'll pass and wait on the bench for a while.

The Laws of Double Negation having been brought in, I'll take advantage of it and go to Piccadilly Circus.

*harrumph* 11 syllable word used in the 11th month. Arron Burr used that trick whilst playing with Mr. Ghandi.
Very well, I shall be the honorable one and withdraw to Embankment.

I've just been over the game and have a few comments which I've intespersed in italics.

Loz - East Putney
Fairly pedestrian opening, a little uninspired.

Heradel - Earls Court

Roney - Ravenscourt Park

Siana - Pentonville Road

Loz - Farringdon
Loz, you missed an opportunity here.  Note the Ravenscourt Park move, two turns before. That set you up for a line-slip, what were you thinking?

Heradel - Astor Place

TCoRN - Queensway
A nice opening, at first I thought you had been too conservative, perhaps playing turtle. ( How wrong I was! )

slic - Westminster
Another nice opening putting the threat on both Loz and TCoRN

Loz - Waterloo
Really just a defensive turn.  Loz , I think your not playing at your best.

Sirana - Queensway

TCoRN - Greenford
Here you peaked my interest, I'd pegged you as defensive, but this showed some metal

slic - Unxbridge/Upminster
I had to check the rules on this, but it was both valid and a decent turn.

Loz - St Pancras
Bravo, excellent counter.  At this point I realised you had been faking the other players out.

Roney - London Bridge

Heradol - Heathrow

Thaurisminths - Paddington
Your know what the say, "Play Paddington Play Safe"

Loz - Kilbrun Park
You had me nodding in agreement with this one.

Planish - PASS
You missed the opportunty for Finchley Road!

Thaurisminths - Finchley Road

Loz - North Wembley
Another strategicly good move, yet I bet you could see three turns ahead couldn't you.

Heradol - Piccadilly Circus
Nice :)

Thaurisminths - Embankment

TCoRN - Mornington Crescent
You caught me off guard what an astounding move.  I think perhaps you played the "Entropy Death of Thread" move a little early, you could perhaps of improved your final position a little, but in the end it's the winning that counts not the playing.

All in all, a marvelous game, great fun to watch.  Have you guys considered playing a game on Vidcast?
