The was a day, way back in the dim distant depths of Escape Pod, when virtually every other story posted (particularly in flash fiction) was by Greg Van Eekhout... This is as it should be, because Mr Eekhout rocks.
It has now been somewhere in the region of a year since EP put out any of the works of that man (was Authorwerx the most recent?). This is clearly, clearly, not acceptable.
Now, one could blame Steve for this, for allowing works of genius to decay in the slushpile... But I suspect the blame is more likely to be laid at the door of Mr Eekhout himself.
