Beautiful story.   I heard the story in two parts; the first is Weisa's interactions with Herbert and the second is her granddaughter's dilemma.  Either part seemed rich enough to be a story on its own and I felt a little surprised when the story moved away from Herbert.  Weisa has a lot to offer the reader and being with her through both parts was  pretty neat.

I loved the little details about the meanings of the different tattoos in the tourist scene (this could have been more detailed in the tattoo scene at the end of the story).
