It was. I wanted to get a Kalie and an Aes Sedai done. Unf, neither happened, though for different reason.
Kalie didn't happen because I just flat out gave up finding overalls in my size. I am 5' tall, and literally everything is made for folks 5'4 and above. Those 4 inches are all in the torso, it seems, so altering would be a bear. I am likely going to end up making them completely, but didn't have time to do so before this con. I have *everything* else, from the jacket to the parasol, but the jumpsuit is key. I was dissapointed.
The Aes Sedai was a bit of a problem because it turned out to be either 1) more expensive or 2) Far more time-consuming than I'd initially thought. I wanted to go with the Amrylin Seat, specifically Elaine as the Seat, because otherwise it's just a chick in medieval dress and a white shall with trim, or a younger chick in a white shift/dress. The ring is the easy part (love the Sculpy, praise the Sculpy), but finding the correct, matching 7 colors of trim at something less than exorbitant proved impossible. So, I'd have needed to make my own bands, which was more than I had time for.
I do still hope to have these done before our next con, since I have more time. Pics of what I did wear, which included fake eyelashes with purple feathers, will be posted as soon as we get them from one of our Con buddies (our camera died), hopefully sometime before next week.
'Munth's Hands of Blue from Firefly was the hit of the con. He and a friend of ours did it together to keep with the "Two by two" theme, and it was perfect!!!!
