For anyone who is interested,  :: crickets ::  I have changed my screen name to Swamp.

This is mostly due to an attempt to be less "visible" on the internet (using my name, pictures of my kids, etc.)  A friend went through some identity theft stuff and weird emails threats recently, which has made me a little skiddish.

I'm not trying to adopt a new persona or hide from any of the stupid things I've said on the forum.  I'm just changing my screen name.

P.S.  My screen name used to be kmmrlatham

Yeah, I guess I am going the opposite way than Rachel.  She went from an obscure name to using her real name.

Shhhhhh! Now everyone's going to know her secret identity!

I was just objecting to it happening without some sort of notice. I knew that palimpsest = "Rachel", but that was only because we PM'ed a few times a good year back about the flash fiction contest. Newer members wouldn't know, so they'd be wondering where this person came from with so many posts, and where palimpsest went.

To the poster formerly known as Kmmrlatham: Honestly, Swamp just isn't as good a name. and I wouldn't have guessed that that was anything than random pounding on the keyboard until you pointed it out.

I Twitter. I also occasionally blog on the Escape Pod blog, which if you're here you shouldn't have much trouble finding.

In case it hasn't already been mentioned in another, more appropriate thread: why "swamp"?

"Swamp" was a nickname my uncle used to call me.  He is one of those guys who has a nickname for all the kids.  He still does it today with grandkids and grand neices/nephews.  My first name is Marshal and everyone used to call me Marsh for short.  Marsh, Swamp...Get it.

I know I changed my screen name to avoid personal info, and now I'm giving out my first name.  I'm feeling it was a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to change my screen name because of my friends trials, but I think I'll stick with it anyway.

Well, I think that's a great name... as long as it keeps you from getting bogged down with annoying worries.  :D
