You know, I haven't seen a single one of those movies, and I'm not sad.

Bill and Ted... it was Keanu Reeve's best work.

What?!?!  No Dazed and Confused.  Matthew McConahey's best work.  (Some might argue Ben Affleck's best, too.)  No Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?!?!  Fat Benicio Del Toro, bald Johnny Depp!  Outrage.

(I'm totally kidding, of course)

I'll go with Bill and Ted's.  Haven't seen the others, although I wouldn't mind seeing Harold and Kumar.

Fear and Loathing. Hands down. Or hands turning into a pile of goo.  Or something.

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?
Five pounds?  Six pounds? Seven pounds?

I've only seen Bill and Ted.  I would've gone with Fast Times if had been up there, but I guess I'm old.   Mr Hand: "What are you, people?  On dope?"

Hey, the original post was edited after I posted... I posted to "." (it was just a period dot ???). I can't claim to be a stoner movie aficionado, but wouldn't any given Cheech and Chong movie qualify?

Very true.  Actually, I think they wrote the book on the stoner movie genre.

Sorry; posted off the top of my head in a hurry.  I just wanted to be sure B&T was on there.

Who voted for Smiley Face?  That movie was awful.

I had to vote for Dude, where's my car? because (as usual) it's the only one of the list I can remember seeing.

I did see the Wayne's World movies. I remember watching Dude and thinking, 'What is it with kids these days? They're just running round after girls and pot, and ending up in completely ludicrous situations. Not like the stoner movies when I was young.'

It was at that moment I realised I am now officially Old.

It's like Woodstock, if you can remember it, then you weren't there.

Rocky V, Batman and Robin, The Piano, Jaws: The Revenge, Howard the Duck, Blue Chips... those are examples of really, really bad movies.

The first three would (Up in Smoke, Cheech & Chong's Next Movie, and Nice Dreams).  They started to really suck with Things are Tough All Over, but even Nice Dreams wasn't up to the standard of the first two.  Anyway, there wasn't much doper content in them after the third.

Oh, and I thought the "420" plus the list itself would kind of telegraph that the subject was stoner movies.

Were Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy, Napoleon Dynamite and Smiley Face on it?

Sorry, but it's in my bottom five and may actually occupy the lowest slot.  Very few films have insulted my intelligence and my sense of taste like that one has (and considering that my taste in movies is about as lowbrow as my taste in music is pretentious, that's really saying something.)

We had open nominations for about two weeks and then went from there.  Look them up to see what was in them . I don't remember.

Don't waste your time.   The best part is Jane Fonda naked during the opening credits, and it rapidly goes downhill from there.

If any of the older Cheech & Chong movies had been on the list they would have gotten my vote.  But, B&T ended up getting it instead.  I'm not sure why, but the more modern movies of this type usually just seem overly stupid and insulting to the viewer's intellect.  The really good ones are mostly older than I am.

I'll just go back to being silent again now.
