First off, somebody please try to come up with a better name that doesn't make us sound somewhat like an 80's movie.

Basically it's what the title sounds like, I, having been foolish enough to have the idea and then further foolish enough to then post it in Russell's outsourcing-my-netflix-list thread, have been appointed to run this. So here's how it is:

1. Don't talk about Movie Club One movie a week, with the following week's movie posted so people have time to Netflix it.

2. Discussion threads work the same as EP/PP/PC's discussion threads.

And I think that's about it. I got the first three by running IMDB's 50 highest rated SF movies through a random number generator, which gave us as the first three: Metropolis, Serenity, and The Truman Show, which I think gives us a nice spin around the genre for choices given to us by IMDB and Chaos. After that I want you guys to start giving me suggestions for movies, either by PM or just posting it along with your comments. Since time is somewhat fluid, I'll be posting the Metropolis thread right after this, and Serenity on Monday, then every thread following on Mondays, probably around 1 pm EST.

So, right, that's it. If anyone has questions/suggestions post below.

I Twitter. I also occasionally blog on the Escape Pod blog, which if you're here you shouldn't have much trouble finding.

I could do with an excuse to watch Metropolis.  My best good friend, Chris, in high school had the soundtrack ... which I think had Freddie Mercury and David Bowie sorts of folks on it... but I never got around to seeing any version of it!

The time to remedy that is... in about a week.  :\

So far as soundtracks go, I have a fondness for Jeff Mill's. I've not heard the one you mention, but I might have to look for it, now...

It was this one I was thinking of (mods - I tried to figure out how to EP-ify the link; is it just a matter of adding "/escapepod-20" after the ID#?): the 1984 re-release.   They put together quite a compilation... for 1984.  :)

 2. Here's My Heart   Pat Benatar   4:53
