Pulp Fiction

"Pulp Fiction is a 1994 film by director Quentin Tarantino, who cowrote the film with Roger Avary. A crime drama with a nonlinear storyline, the film is known for its rich, eclectic dialogue, its ironic mix of humor and violence, and its host of cinematic and pop culture references. The film was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture; Tarantino and Avary won for Best Original Screenplay. It was also awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. A major commercial success, it revitalized the career of its leading man, John Travolta, who received an Academy Award nomination, as did costars Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman." —Wikipedia.

This flick gets lots of my classic movie love.  Any film featuring a chase scene across the faces on Mount Rushmore just can't be wrong.

I showed this to my 25 year old girlfriend a few months back.  She enjoyed it, but kept asking "this is really Hitchcock?", having only been exposed to his more horror based work like Psycho.  On re-watching it parts are rather slow for an action/thriller, but that's just comparison to modern cinema.  Some of the twists and turns are probably a bit predictable with a modern filmgoers eye too, but there are still a few surprises.  Cary Grant's performance is what really sells the whole film, he's fantastic in this.

Did you know that Hitchcock's preferred title was The Man in Lincoln's Nose?

I did not know that... that's pretty hilarious!

And I love this film, too. Great movie. I haven't seen it in years.
