Hi everyone,

This may be a super cheesy post, but I'm a new listener to Escape Pod, and actually podcasting as a whole. I actually discovered EP by listening to PodCastle first- I got an iPod for Christmas and while looking for audiobooks, happened to stumble across PodCastle when it was first starting. I got the first two episodes and was hooked, so while waiting a week for the next one to be released, I thought I would give EP a try. I love them both!
I'm aware that podcasting is probably old news to some of you, and EscapePod has been in the works for a long time, but I'm actually one of the first in my group of contacts who has even given it a try. I'm from Ohio, if that explains it. So please forgive my newbyness! I started out trying to brush up on my spanish with CoffeeBreak Espanol, then moved to Photoshop tips and tricks, and from there into PodCastle. Listening to EP and CoffeeBreak has given me a new love for my iPod--- as a way to learn something new, wherever I am, in all manner of areas. It's inspired me to discover what else I can fit on there, and hopefully I can find some other podcasts that are as interesting as EP's short stories. I don't even listen to my music much anymore!
Escape Pod's stories have been completely captivating. Since I've discovered it so late, there were over a hundred for me to catch up on. I listen to 2 or 3 a day- I have a 45 minute commute each way, and a mind-numbing job (as a scientist, coincidentally). I can't get enough, and even though I just listened to Episode 100 and have 90 more to go, I dread the day when I run out and have to wait for the weekly releases!
Anyway, I realized I wanted to come on here and share my thanks when I was daydreaming this weekend and realized the other people in my mind were speaking with Steve Eley's reading voice

For something to have sunk so far into my brain, shows I really like it. And its nice to know there are so many other fiction and sci-fi lovers out there- after months of a chick-lit-oriented bookclub group, it's like a gasp of fresh air to hear solid stories about dragons and space travel.
So my sincere thanks to Steve for the podcast-- it is interesting, really well put together, and always entertaining. Thanks to the writers who submit their stories and rev my imagination. And thanks to the readers, even those I can't always understand!
My compliments and appreciation goes out to everyone who makes this possible!
My warmest~
