Finally saw this last night.  I don't know if I thought it was as good as X2 or Batman Begins (my personal superhero movie favorites) but it was a GREAT superhero movie.  The acting, good God.  Obviously Robert Downey, Jr. made it.  But getting Jeff Bridges to play Obadiah Stain was a stroke of brilliance.  And Jon Favreau's direction was amazing.  Everything in that movie seemed to have a purpose, or come back into it later.  Just fantastic.  (And his little role was pretty funny, too.)

And yeah, it does make me want to watch Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang again.

I'm actually somewhat interested in seeing the Incredible Hulk now, something which surprises me, as I had no interest before, despite Edward Norton being in it.  But I like the Fugitive/Bourne Identity angle they seem to have taken with it, and I think it's cool that Stark pops up in it (it was cool to see Sam Jackson as Nick Fury in Iron Man, although I wish there had been something a little more there...maybe something more subtle.  I don't know).

Anyway, word on the street is that Marvel is seriously considering cutting Favreau out of the Iron Man sequel which I find really hard to comprehend.  Then again, I wouldn't put it past Marvel getting two quick victories under their belt and then going all Elektra on us.

I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed Iron Man. Great movie, imo.

Lots of interesting talk going on regarding the Avengers movie. Word i hear is that Thor is the next movie to come out (2010, i think), then Captain America in 2011 with an origins story, as in WWII origins. It ends with him being frozen, then the Avengers movie out later that year picks up with him being unfrozen... that's just what i hear. Don't know if it's true or not. Cool if it is, though.

Oh, speaking of Cap, be listening for the Super Soldier reference in the Hulk movie.

I would go nuts if they made a WWII Captain America movie.  Completely. NUTS.

That caught me off guard, too... I had no desire to see the first Hulk movie (accidentally turned it on in the hotel on a dismal trip to Dayton, and almost sat through most of it before deciding I'd rather take a bath and read "Holes"*)... but Ed Norton AND Tim Roth AND William Hurt???  Even if they didn't bother writing a script, it would have to be worth a look.

I loved that book.  The film wasn't bad either.
