OMFG ... they're not serious, are they?  What is up with that Joker?  He looks like some kid who played with mommy's makeup.

(forgot to bring this up because I was posting about Iron Man, but saw this trailer in the theater at the time.)

I can't wait to see this movie, and Heath Ledger is likely to be the creepiest Joker ever. Except for the makeup. Frankly, it looks to me almost exactly like makeup Brandon Lee wore in "The Crow." I think they could have been more creative.

And, if I were a young, attractive actor, I'd never do a movie with any makeup like that. Ever.

I think it'll be interesting, if not the most sophisticated thing to come out Hollywood in recent years. And you have to admit, Maggie Gyllenhaal will dial the "annoying" factor down considerably from Katie Holmes. The new Joker looks scary, and more realistic than the original movie ones, which I suppose it the point. But ultimately (for me) it will come down to the plot. The rest is just adding to the new universe they've set up.
Still, excited.

...you've got three metric seconds.

And the Oscar folks will give him a posthumous award for supporting actor if he deserves it or not.

Brandon Lee's makeup in The Crow was at least skillfully applied.  No matter how good Ledger's performance, I can't take The Joker seriously with makeup like I saw in that trailer.

I'll be surprised if he wins the Oscar.  I will not be surprised if he gets nominated.

I have to admit, this is the one I'm really looking forward to seeing this summer.  Heath Ledger looks absolutely terrifying.  The streaking make-up adds to the creepiness for me.  And I give Nolan loads of credit.  He and Ledger had to do something significantly different than what Burton and Nicholson did, because *that* Joker seemed like he would stick with movie-goers for a long time.  That tired, washed-out, not-at-all funny version of the Joker looks really disturbing to me.

Also, I'm stoked that they're taking Harvey Dent seriously this time around (as opposed to Schumacher's crapfest and Burton dropping Billy Dee).

I liked Aaron Eckhart in Thursday and In the Company of Men; he'll probably make a good Two-Face.

Or you could see Wolverine kick a dog in the face.

As an extra treat, that page also has The Punisher punching out a polar bear!

It's from a comic, if that's any consolation.
