I almost posted this in the chamber of horror, because it scares the hell out of me.  Was anyone else freaked out by this when they went to Chuck E Cheese's as a kid?  Well, now it's a lot scarier.

Okay... I'm either terrified (that someone would take the time to program either - let alone both - of these and film them - let alone use them in a Showbiz Pizza...

...or I'm horrified that someone would spend time manipulating the footage to look like they had.

Either way, yeah, that's pretty creepy.  (I remember when they were doing "Mickey" in that show, and our party of church kids thought THAT was pretty racy. )

I was always freaked out by the showbiz band when I was a kid.  It's even more strange when they're singing "love in the club".  I wonder if there is some sort of voice recognition for these songs or if each movement needs to be programmed independently.

Can our overseas forumites let us know if there is anything like this anywhere outside the US?

I remember that.  Thankfully, my kids have grown out of Chuck E. Cheese's (it's not Space Aliens).  A more fitting soundtrack for those videos would be the Psycho music.

I'm sure the second one is the latter case.  It sounds exactly like what I've heard on the radio, whereas the Shakira song is redone by the characters.

She's probably right, though the Hasselfhoff corollary would indicate that whatever horribleness they choose to copy, they will also make it worse.

So you're saying this is a uniquely American thing?  Nobody else subjects their kids to performances of a creepy, noisy mechanical band of dusty animals?  I find that hard to believe.
