I have a suggestion, how about running two story feedbacks for a few weeks, currently it is about 7 stories behind and it just feels too long and you forget much of the story people are responding to, getting it down so that you have a story and then feedback 2-3 weeks later is better in my opinion. Anyone else agree?

I agree, and I think I've expressed this sentiment at the past.

I think half a month to a month after the story runs is a good time for feedback.  That way, it's like reading the letters column of a magazine a month after the previous stories have run.

I actually agree too.  It's time management that's been my challenge.  The intros and outros are down to enough of a science now that at this point, re-reading and condensing the feedback takes about as much time as the rest of the i/o prep combined.  I'm working on ways to make that more efficient -- and also to give myself more time.

Catching up a bit more is one of my goals.  Probably won't happen this week either, alas, but I'm in favor of the sentiment.

Hi Steve,

I'm not sure how you are counting now, but I recall that many of your feedback remarks begin with a summary of how many were for/against or how many liked/disliked.   I know it may sound kind of "Netflix-y" but one thing that might help make the feedback more efficient is a rating system.  At least that way, you would only have to read the posts to get your favorite comment or the one that sums up the general feeling.  Certainly those who appreciate the amount of work you put into this weekly godsend of fiction wouldn't mind clicking on a few stars (or galaxies?).  Of course, you would have to include a "meh" button in the middle, right?

Cheers!

Wow, have six months passed already.  I had no idea that it was time for this question to come back up.

The general opinion has been that the forums work better if people, who have something to say, say it.  If all someone can come up with is "3 stars" then it's not really worth it to the other posters.
