A much simpler challenge than ZARGA V.

Create a tagline for the podcasts.  PM your submissions to me, and I'll arrange blind voting.

For instance:

Pseudopod, the best horror podcast on the internet.  (Simple, yes)
Escapepod, bringing you tomorrow's best SF yesterday.  (Corny)
Podcastle, no chain mail bikinis here!  (Not entirely true)

I love this one, actually.

Not true, but very funny.

Pseudopod, the bad news is we've taken over.  The good news is we have pie.
Escapepod, from the world of tomorrow to the puny human mp3 players of today
Podcastle, the fantasy revolution will not be televised, but you can listen to it for free

Or perhaps

Pseudopod, the horror!
Escape Pod, the shiny!
Podcastle, the fantastic!

Or perhaps

Pseudopod, listen or we'll recite razor commercials outside your house at 3am.  In fact, we might do that if you DO listen.

I like the mp3 one, Al.  Everyone else, please remember to PM the entries to me.  I haven't figured out how to pick the winner yet, but it will involve forum voting in one form or another.

The prize, as always, will be a disc of your choice from www.poddisc.com.  But maybe we can talk Ben into printing some tshirts....

Escapepod, listen or we'll strip you naked and throw you out the air lock!

Pseudopod, listen to our podcast or we'll sacrifice you to the Elder Gods.

These aren't submissions, just helping with the creative process.

Ok, some more details:

Submissions will be accepted until July 31st.  Judging will take place after that.

I will need 3 volunteers, 1 for each podcast.  I will forward them to you and you will narrow them down to 10.  Should anyone actually involved in one of the podcasts wish to help, they get priority.

It's not official yet, but it's highly likely that there will be Tshirts made for each podcast.  The winning tag line for each podcast will get a free tshirt.  These will be limited editions and numbered!  Contest winners will get Tshirt #1.  Other contestants will have a chance to order shirts before the public in general does.

:D can/will the shirts have the winning tagline on them? with the logo/theme for the corresponding podcast? cuz... that would be awesome, and i would totally get one.

and uuuuhhh i'll volunteer with Pseudopod if there arent any other takers :P

oh and for submissions do we have to send in a tagline for all three podcasts or can we choose which one/ones we wanna do?

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?
Five pounds?  Six pounds? Seven pounds?

The shirts will have the winning tag line.  I'm working out the details on logos.  The more detailed we make the shirts, the more they will cost.  I'll provide those details when I have specifics.  The tag lines will not be limited to these shirts, but the shirts themselves will be limited editions.

You can submit for any of the podcasts, and for Escape Artists in general.  You do not need to submit an entry for all of them.  I'm going to set the number of submissions per podcast at 10 per person.

THE FIRST PERSON TO SEND ME A SUBMISSION GETS THE PRIZE IF THERE ARE DUPLICATE ENTRIES.

Oh, great and mighty Alasdair, Orator Maleficent, He of the Silvered Tongue, guide this humble fangirl past jumping up and down and squeeing upon hearing the greatness of Thy voice.
Oh mighty Mur the Magnificent. I am not worthy.

Looks like the tshirts will be a go, one way or another.

Yes they have, and I've offered some alternatives, but I think Ben just needed some help.  He's got a lot on his plate.

Maybe this thread should be updated for those who aren't interested in the contests forum.

Bumping this, haven't gotten many entries.

I still need 2 more volunteers for impartial judging.

I'll volunteer for either Escape Pod or Podcastle (or both, if needed).

With the low number of submissions, I'm thinking of forwarding all of the entries to both screeners and comparing their lists.

Remember, people, you can submit 10 tag lines per podcast and 10 tag lines for Escape Artists in general.

I've received a few stinkers, and am thinking about listing the worst submissions after the contest is over, anonymously, of course.  I wonder, though, if some of you are trying to be horrible.

Escape pod:  Where the men are men and the sheep are electric.
Pseudopod:  I went to hell and all I got was this creepy podcast.
Podcastle:  Saving virgins from Pseudopod.
