Ok, I talked about some of this before, but I'll just start over.

I have a pretty broad base of knowledge and skills.  I will gladly share this knowledge with anyone that is truly interested.

If you're looking for research material for a story, or advice on doing something, I'll help if I can.  I've started several businesses (and ran a lot of them into the ground).  I own my truck and am an over the road driver.  I also am a poker fanatic, specializing in Limit Omaha Hi/Lo.  I've been all across the U.S.  I have held a Federal Firearms Dealers License, but that was almost 15 years ago.

I'm launching a new business now.  Also, I'm starting to home brew beer.  I'm starting with just a Mr. Beer home brew kit, and it's not exactly brewing, but it's a start.  Anyone with experience brewing can feel free to chime in here.

I've done much more than this, and am not putting this up as a brag.  I believe in sharing knowledge and would like to offer what I can.

I'm happy to talk homebrewing with you.  I've been at it a few years, off and on (since the kids came, mostly off  :()  It's a hobby (I almost wrote "hoppy" ha!) that you can do expensive or cheap, it's full of fun gadgets, rewards experience and diligence, but is fun if you're not too serious about it.  My first brew was drinkable, and my third was actually quite good.  Unfortunately, it takes a lot of time, not just the fermentation, but the actual brewing.  It's about a day to do a batch, including clean up, and you can't really stop the process once you've started.  The stuff takes up some space, too.

If you don't have it already, Charles Papazian's "Joy of Homebrewing" is the bible, and it's a fun read.
Basic Brewing Radio is a good podcast, and the guy sells basic how to DVDs.  I also like Craft Beer Radio. It's about beer tasting, rather than brewing.

I found a local club of homebrewers that has been an invaluable resource (lots of good parties, too!).  There's also a  Yahoo group that is friendly and will field questions.

I'm happy to help if you have any questions.

I've never tried a Mr. Beer kit.  I don't think the homebrewers think too highly of them, but it's probably a good and easy way to get your feet wet.

My wife bought the Mr Beer kit.  I wouldn't exactly call it brewing.  The wort is canned, you just heat it up and add yeast and water, basically.  Slightly more than that, but not much.  I'll check those links out.  I lean more towards craft beers myself, so this is just a starter.  My biggest problem is that I'm on the road for a week or 3 at a time.  I have to do all the work while I'm home, and then let everything sit.
