A friend of mine is taking another stab at getting people involved with The Dueling Quill and I wanted to take a moment and shill for him. Basically he presents a title and people have about a week to submit a story and then people can vote for the story they like best. No awards other than the sweet taste of victory - but if there's anyone who needs to kickstart the writing habit it may help.

Looks like I'm gonna win this week! Of course, nobody else has entered.

Maybe they were ascairt of me? Nah!

I was hoping that more of the EP audience would hop on the bandwagon. But, I realize that I'm a mutant writer. I don't care about being paid. If I am, fine, if not, fine. I write because I enjoy it. I have a 9-5 to pay the bills. Writing is a hobby for me.

It's tough to get something like this going and get people involved. Though after my grad school apps are complete I am going to try to help him out with finding other places on the web that writers gather and try to spread the word a bit more.

I might have to give this a go.  It is an interesting concept to be sure.  The current duel is only 2000 words, which isn't much at all.

Swing by the Prehistory Ranch.

Well, you guys let me win be default again!

I'm beginning to think that I'm the only one writing.

Unless you are being lulled into a false sense of security and then one day they will pounce!!

Actually, I think "See Spot run" could have beaten me this round.

"In Desperate Need of Sleep" (Clay's version) wasn't my best work. I think it kinda hopped around. It needs to be 10G words, not 1600.

I did like the job I gave the immortal character, though.

What I wanna know is...
who keeps voting against me?
