I know this isn't a complete source, but if you look at Duotrope, Escape Pod hasn't responded to submissions in over 30 days -  the last time I saw responses was mid-October.

http://www.duotrope.com/recentresponses.aspx?id=205

Here are the other two Escape Artist podcasts: http://www.duotrope.com/recentresponses.aspx?id=1276 and http://www.duotrope.com/recentresponses.aspx?id=2262

Maybe Escape Pod has frozen for submissions?

I had no idea the watchmen were being watched. Interesting site.

If EP froze for submissions, nobody told us slushers.

I know there are a great many authors wondering about the status of their Escape Pod submissions.  I want to know my story's fate so I can throw another back into the pile.  (I think that's called masochism.)

There aren't even slush rejections coming down the pipe, or if there are, they aren't reaching Duotrope.  There is a clog in the drain somewhere.  The worst part for me is that I don't see evidence that it's being dealt with.  (This is not to suggest it is not being dealt with, just that I can't see it from my exterior vantage point.)  I'd like to see some sort of announcement regarding how long responses are currently expected to take.  Or perhaps to see submissions close until they're caught up.  (When I get behind grading things in my classes -- which happens periodically for a variety of reasons-- I stop collecting new homework until I've caught up.)  Or I'd like to see...something acknowledging the frustrations the writers are feeling.

My submission is close to 300 days.  Honestly, I'm willing to wait a year to hear from Escape Pod.  I would, however, like to know I'm waiting a year before I send it.  And whether it has been received and added to the queue; I haven't received confirmation of that much.

This is a time for patience, no doubt.  This time of year is a beast for us all.  Maybe it'll be the new year before responses start trickling again.  Maybe March.  All I'm asking -- what I hope my colleagues are asking -- is to be informed.

Sadly, we slushers don't get informed as to what gets accepted and what doesn't - at least not until after something gets produced and is on the podcast feed.  However, I did read your Chasers story back in March, and I liked it and passed it along to editorial.  It's quite possible that it's still under consideration...

Thanks Ocicat!  Glad to know it's in the system somewhere.  More than I knew before.  Now I can stew wait in improved comfort.

I decided it was time to formally withdraw my submission (a collective sigh of relief from all that I shan't be pestering anymore).  I can handle long turnaround times, but I do expect to be able to get some kind of solid answer to a query after months of trying.  I at least want to know whether the story is still in consideration or if I'm just wasting my time waiting for nothing.

I hope I at least get a confirmation of the withdrawal.  If I don't, I don't think I'll take the effort to submit to Escape Pod again.

I really wish I could provide answers to these queries, but my own queries to the editors haven't been replied to either.  Neither mods nor slushers really know what's going on... I feel bad not knowing for you all!  :(

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?
Five pounds?  Six pounds? Seven pounds?

Yeah, I've heard there seem to be internal communication problems too.  Thanks to you and to eytanz, Ocicat, and scattercat for trying to approach this from the inside!  I do appreciate the efforts you have put into it.

Sorry!  I'd talked about it to you via private Google Chat rather than public forum, so I I didn't know if it was appropriate to mention that here and I erred on the side of caution.  Have edited the original post to remedy.

Since there are so many slushers visiting this thread, would any of you happen to know if my story has been passed up, or even received?  (I don't know what kind of records you guys keep, if any.)  "There's a Pill For That", submitted 1/26/11.  Thanks!

Received an email this morning with a rejection for a story submitted in August 2010.  Wow...forgot I even sent that one.   :o

According to Mur's very polite, wry humor, some stories were misfiled and they hope to catch up.  Here's hoping other folks hear back soon.

And hoping the story I remember sending... *fingers crossed*
