It's extra annoying when they write it to sound like some kind of archaic language. I don't want to decipher. I want to read.
That's one nice feature of the movie
Beowulf and Grendel. They pretty much stuck with modern English vocabulary, including the profanity, instead of inventing pseudo-archaic expressions.
