No forum can forever hide from the spam gremlins, but I thought I'd mention that I got a bad message from here. The video they linked is not shared below, but here was the body of the message:

Hmm, thanks for the heads up, that user has now been banned/deleted.

Anyone else getting these from other users?

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?
Five pounds?  Six pounds? Seven pounds?

Yeah, thanks for the notification - PM spam is hard to spot unless the spammers happen to direct one at one of the admins, so it's always good to get a heads up on it (either by posting here or clicking the "report to admin" link at the bottom right corner of the PM).

Oh, that's a much better solution. I'll do that if I get another. Thanks!

There is the message on top of the forum saying that new users for some reason may not share links and URLs. I assume it's to prevent the spam bots from working actively here.

That's correct; it doesn't stop all the bots but it prevents the ones that would otherwise fill up these forums with porn links and other dodgy stuff. Any human who wants to post a link can get around this restriction by posting first then editing their post to include the links (though of course, if the links are off topic for the forum they'll get deleted by the moderator - we don't allow humans to spam either).
