Can you help me remember this Escape Pod episode?  It was a story about the Earthling soldier women sent to another another planet.  The warriors were all girls because they found how to tap into the "mother instinct" to turn them into violent warriors.  I might have the details a bit wrong, it was years ago.

My husband thought there was another related story about when they came home, dealing with having been at war.

Any help please?

I bet the second one you're thinking about is Elites - http://escapepod.org/2008/05/22/ep159-elites/

I can never remember the name of the first, but it was the first EP episode I ever heard and made me fall in love with this place.

I don't think they're related, but they both feature ruthless military women.

Possibly story number 1 is EP207: Wonder Maul Doll, written by Kameron Hurley.

I should listen to that one again...

(If you liked it, you may want to check out Hurley's books. God's War is supposed to be pretty stunning.)
