This wasn't one for logicians or nit-pickers

I disagree!  :)

The sense of paranoia was wonderful, reminded me of Philip K. Dick in some ways, although I wa a bit more sure of reality itself than in most Dick stories, that paranoid sense of not knowing who is being replaced is wonderful.

A perfect Pseuscapepod story.

Loved this story, it got me involved to a degree I haven't been for a while here at EP. I could really feel the dread and mental pressure this guy was experiencing. I was not at all distracted by any plot holes - and I'm still not that convinced they were as bad as people make them here. Anyway this story was too good to be dragged down by  nitpicking discussions.
