Escape Pod is not the only SF podcast out there. So here's a thread to share and discuss podcasts on this topic you love. Hopefully we can get some discussion going, as opposed to everyone merely posting a list of what they like.
At the moment, I regularly listen to:
The Failed Cities Monologues - a collection of monologues from different characters which gradually builds into a story set in a dystopian future world. The best thing about it is the style is uniquely suited to podcasting. I'm not a fan of full-length novels as audiobooks, but making a story out of a collection of monologues works.
Cory Doctorow's Podcast. He reads out his own short stories, sometimes as he is working on them. Unfortunately, I feel the format of posting a few minutes worth of a short story doesn't work so well. It's just not enough to satisfy. So I wait until he has finished a story and listen to all the episodes in quick succession (in one go if I can find the time).
There are other great SF podcasts out there, but not enough time to listen to them all on a regular basis. Rather than subscribe to
The Dragon Page, a podcast discussing written SF, I check their site once in a while and download anything that looks interesting.
I have a similar approach to the
Agony Column Podcast, which has some interesting interviews. Browse the archive, you are bound to find someone you like. The show is hosted by a professional broadcaster and it shows. These are proper intervies, rather than just chats.
Any one have any comments on these podcasts? Anyone want to share their favourite SF podcasts?
