Meh. I somehow couldn't help but see this story as a metaphor for human sexuality, which made it very sex negative, which meh.

I second the "meh" for similar reason as mentioned by bounceswish.
It has a very... well, is there a female version of the word misogynistic?

Misandry = hates men.
Misanthrope = hates everybody.

I'm a stand-up philosopher until 2024. Then, I move onto my next gig. I'm a gentleman forester and farmer. I also enjoy jumping into Lake Huron and panicking the fish.

The fact that I went into this story expecting a vanilla-ish lovecraftian tale made it all the more powerful. Sweet lord, those final lines.
