Facility Type: Large public healthcare facility in Upper Manhattan

Shift Time: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Description:

The Bio Medical Equipment Technician is responsible for repairing, calibrating, operating, and maintaining a variety of medical equipment technologies, devices, instruments, and systems. This role includes inspecting, installing, and performing preventive maintenance on general medical equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with healthcare standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs, calibration, and preventive maintenance on medical devices and systems.
  • Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper function and safety compliance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service documentation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clinical and technical staff.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with departments to minimize equipment downtime and maintain service continuity.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in biomedical equipment maintenance or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of medical device operations and repair procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot various types of biomedical systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Biomedical Electronics Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
