Controller | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $124,000 - $173,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Allendale seeking Controllers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial reporting activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, working with department heads to develop accurate financial plans and projections.
• Implement and maintain robust cost accounting systems to track production costs, analyze variances, and support pricing decisions.
• Manage inventory valuation and control processes, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and obsolescence reserves.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure data integrity, and mitigate financial risks.
• Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for operational improvements.
• Oversee cash flow management and forecasting to ensure optimal liquidity and working capital utilization.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis specific to manufacturing operations.
• Proven ability to manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in building and managing high-performing finance teams.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific manufacturing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience with international operations and multi-currency accounting.
• Involvement in M&A due diligence and integration activities.
