The Hospital Phlebotomist at Mobile Infirmary Hospital is responsible for performing blood collections and specimen processing while providing exceptional customer service. The role involves specimen collection for various tests, maintaining patient and specimen records, and minor equipment maintenance. Candidates must have phlebotomy certification or experience and work a 2nd shift schedule with opportunities for career growth.

We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist to work at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 2pm-10:30pm, with rotating weekends

Work Location: Mobile Infirmary Hospital 5 Mobile Infirmary Circle - Mobile AL

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative/clerical duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency or previous experience as a phlebotomist is required
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation required
• Travel to additional sites when needed
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
