Mold Set-Up Technicians in Pulaski, TN 38478

Job Description

As a Mold Set-Up Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality by preventing non-conformity, identifying and recording quality issues, and recommending and implementing solutions. You will be responsible for visual quality inspection, identifying defects, and communicating these with the process technicians and maintenance team. Additionally, you will handle mold and material changes as needed, and perform gage and weight checks to validate process capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Initiate action to prevent product non-conformity.
• Identify and record quality problems.
• Recommend and implement solutions to quality issues.
• Verify implementation of solutions.
• Properly identify and dispose of scrap.
• Report deficiencies to supervisor.
• Perform visual quality inspection and identify defects.
• Communicate defects with process technicians and maintenance group.
• Conduct mold and material changes as needed.
• Perform gage and weight checks to validate process capabilities.

Essential Skills

• Experience in injection mold set-ups and changeovers.
• Proficiency in using calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to perform visual quality inspections.
• Knowledge of machine set-up and change-over processes.
• Experience with mold setting and changes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience as a mold setter.
• Automotive experience preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This role is within a Canadian-based manufacturer of automotive plastic processed products. The facility is a Tier 1 supplier working with premier OEMs in the automotive industry. Located in Pulaski, TN, the plant is mid-sized but growing, offering a busy work environment with lots of one-on-one attention and training from management.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
