Position Summary:

We are presently seeking a dedicated professional to join Urban Health Plan (UHP) in the capacity of Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer). The incumbent will focus on OB/GYN Sonography. As an Ultrasound Tech in our Diagnostics Department, you will be a part of an interdisciplinary team of providers and health care professionals who provide quality health care to patients at our Plaza del Sol in Queens. This position is Part Time based on 24 regular hours per week. We are seeking an incumbent with availability to fulfill 3 shifts between Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm with rotating Saturdays 7am-1pm.

While this position is based on Corona, Queens, incumbents should be aware that initial training is held in the Bronx. Comfortability with commuting is essential. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• ARDMS registration required (RDMS Certified in OBGYN is required).
• Graduate of two-year ultrasound program
• A minimum of 2-5 years of independent sonography experience is required. Must include experience with all three trimesters as well as anatomy and growth scanning.
• Skilled in use of computers and electronic health record software. 
• Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred. 

Key Duties:

• Operates ultrasound equipment to produce and record quality images. 
• For OB/GYN- this includes 2D, 3D, and 4D fetal ultrasounds.  Performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound exams including Abdomen, OB/GYN, transvaginal.
• Prepares patient for examination by explaining the procedure in easy-to-understand terms based on professional knowledge to relieve patient of any pretesting anxiety. 
• Obtains pertinent and relative patient history and information prior to preforming exam.
• Maintains patient records and adds analytical notes to images/videos captured. 
• Manages appointment schedules and ensures timely reporting of results to referring providers.

Starting Compensation:  

Minimum $45.00/hour; Maximum $50.00/hour

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

Onsite, Corona, Queens, NY, 24 hours per week.
