Overview I am looking for a few part-time photography assistants (18+) to help during wedding season and photography sessions. The role involves carrying gear and assisting with lighting equipment and modifiers during weddings and photo sessions. Hourly Rate $20 /hour Responsibilities Help primary photographer carry gear during sessions or events. Assist with setting up and managing lighting equipment and modifiers. Be an extra set of eyes during shoots—help look out for stray hairs, wrinkled clothes, etc. Help get children to look at the camera during family sessions. Offer creative ideas during sessions. Film BTS video on cellular phone of the photographer in action and send it to WhatsApp. Gather vendor and bridal party social media accounts. Manage shot lists and scripts. Gather water for the primary photographer when needed. Required Skills and Qualifications No experience is necessary. Training can be provided, but familiarity with the following can be helpful: Experience with photography and familiarity with photography techniques – understanding exposure triangle, shutter speed, aperture, and depth of field. Basic knowledge of lighting – basic lighting techniques (teaching available). Able to be active for long periods, such as at a wedding. Able to lift 20–30 lbs. Some equipment may be heavy. Must be able to provide your own transportation to photoshoots. Due to COVID-19, masks may be required while working on a photoshoot. Schedule Schedule will vary depending on the number of sessions and weddings booked during the season. Weddings are commonly on Saturdays and portrait sessions on Sundays, but any day of the week is possible.
