Proofreader This position is based onsite at St. Louis HQ from Monday to Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on Fridays. The work environment is pet-friendly, and the role involves proofing consumer-targeted communication materials generated by the agency. Strong grammar skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential. A positive, can-do attitude will contribute to a key support role within the agency team. Responsibilities: Proofread all content generated by the production/digital design group. Ensure accuracy against original approved copy. Check for proper grammar and spelling. Identify variances from conventional treatments on typographic style. Verify correct size and type specifications. Ensure proper placement of copy on layout. Confirm proper use of trademarks. Verify proper coupon codes, expiration dates, ingredient statements, and legal mandatories. Apply current Federal Trade Commission packaging requirements with regard to type and symbols. Ensure all documents are current with industry and legal standards. Communicate effectively and use good judgment when interacting with creative teams. Essential Skills: Critical knowledge of spelling, editing, and grammar. Ability to read and process a large volume of content accurately to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with clear and comprehensive record-keeping. Ability to interface effectively with creative and client organizations. Knowledge of digital keyline process, Macintosh computers, and word processing programs. Fastidious attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, English major preferred. Three plus years of professional experience in proofreading, copywriting, or editing creative content. Agency experience preferred. Work Environment: The work environment is pet-friendly with onsite work from Monday to Thursday and work-from-home flexibility on Fridays. The role requires interaction with various departments, including Legal and Regulatory, and involves the use of Macintosh computers and word processing programs.
