C Squared Systems, LLC is an RF engineering, consulting, and software development company specializing in providing services for seamless wireless coverage from RF analysis to design and implementation of DAS systems and Wi-Fi networks to remote monitoring and management of complex multi-vendor environments. Description:

We are currently seeking an entry level Radio Frequency Field Engineer to join our team in our Syracuse NY office. This position is for full time employment. The candidate will perform site surveys, system designs, gathering existing data and coverage as well as general site information. System troubleshooting, project management, activations, maintenance tickets, optimization, testing as well as some construction will all be a part of the job duties.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Applicants must possess strong technical aptitude and be comfortable working in high pressure situations. The candidate will be interacting with customers and co-workers on a daily basis, and must be able to provide timely and detailed updates. Field Engineer will be exposed to various RF applications and should understand the best practices for any given situation. This position will require the individual to be in the field approximately 80% of the time. The candidate must be willing to travel with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform site surveys and in-depth site walkthroughs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems for optimal performance.
  • Project managing the construction and installation of Distributed Antenna Systems, keeping to all building codes and customer construction requests.
  • Perform system tests using scanners, spectrum analyzers, transmitters, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Design complete and accurate Distributed Antenna Systems using iBwave software.
  • Take lead on system commissioning, integrations, and activations.
  • Work hands on with system components such as antennas, fiber optics, coax, and RF amplifiers.
  • Multi-task projects on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to travel and occasional overnight stays.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET - accredited academic institution.
  • Understanding of engineering design concepts, testing procedures, and possessing the ability to adapt to new procedures, equipment, and technologies.
  • Experience with basic construction tools (drills, screwdrivers etc.) and construction practices.
  • Ability to multitask and keep projects moving through different phases of their lifecycle by staying organized and communicating.
  • Ability to receive and give direction.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team diverse in skill, experience and knowledge.
  • Experience with 2D modeling programs such as AutoCad or Draftsight is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications. (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
