Position Overview

The Tunnel Machine Operator is responsible for using the PFAFF Tunnel Machine to sew soft shades according to work tickets. The role requires sewing experience, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions. Operators must work safely, handle materials, and keep their work area clean and organized.

What you'll do

\n
• Receive soft shades from Tunnel Preparation for processing.
\n
• Read and interpret work tickets for special instructions, including shade type and custom requirements.
\n
• Check the straightness and alignment of each soft shade before beginning sewing.
\n
• Operate the Pfaff Tunnel Machine to sew soft shades according to specifications.
\n
• Use tape measures and tools to ensure accuracy in measurements and placement.
\n
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety and housekeeping protocols.
\n
• Report any equipment issues, material defects, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
\n
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs and workflow.
\n
• All other duties as assigned

Who you are

\n
• High school diploma or equivalent
\n
• Experience with industrial sewing machines (Pfaff Tunnel Machine preferred)
\n
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
\n
• General knowledge of fabrics
\n
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
\n
• Strong attention to detail
\n
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 7+ hours) and remain stationary for 50% of the time
\n
• Ability to lift and carry materials continuously
\n
• Manual dexterity to operate hand tools and machinery
\n
• Must successfully pass a color-blindness test
\n
