Job Description

This opportunity is for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a K-12 student with diverse communication needs in Cochran, GA. The role involves collaborating with a team of service providers to ensure effective communication across multiple therapy sessions, providing essential language access and promoting inclusive learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ASL interpretation for speech therapy sessions held in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
• Offer interpretation support for virtual Vision Impairment (VI) services on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Interpret for physical therapy services scheduled in person on Wednesdays, with approximate hours from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (exact times to be confirmed).
• Collaborate closely with therapists and educational professionals to facilitate clear communication and meet the students needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills.
• Prior experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably K-12.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to adhere to scheduled therapy sessions, including in-person and virtual settings.
