This opportunity seeks a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students within a vibrant school environment in Kenner, LA. The role is contract-based, covering the full academic year (CSY), and focuses on facilitating clear communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers and peers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa to support classroom instruction and extracurricular activities.
• Collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure effective communication and educational access.
• Assist in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students requiring sign language services.
• Attend relevant meetings and trainings to stay updated on interpreting best practices and students needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience in educational settings.
