A law firm seeks an experienced Tax Attorney to provide strategic guidance on federal, state, and local business tax matters for partnerships, LLCs, and corporations. The position involves advising on entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, real estate investments, and business succession planning. This hybrid role offers a dynamic work environment and opportunities for professional growth. Duties Advise clients on a range of tax matters, including federal, state, and local business taxation. Counsel clients on entity formation and selection, including partnerships, LLCs, and corporations. Handle tax-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and business transactions. Guide business succession planning and investments in real property. Stay updated on evolving tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and strategic planning. Draft and review related legal documents, agreements, and reports. Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop innovative solutions for complex tax issues. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal, state, and local business tax advisory. Experience with business structuring, mergers and acquisitions, real property investments, and succession planning. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar. LL.M. in Taxation is preferred but not required. Skills In-depth understanding of tax laws and regulations. Proficiency in legal research and drafting. Effective client management and relationship-building skills.
