A Typical Day:

As a Tax Office Team Supervisor, you will inspire our clients to make confident, informed decisions about their finances. You will build long-lasting client relationships and lead a dedicated team in delivering outstanding service.

In this role, you will manage a tax office and provide essential leadership and development to your team, ensuring a top-notch client experience and meeting growth objectives.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Partner with the District General Manager to implement office-level growth plans, develop local partnerships, and enhance community involvement.
  • Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions.
  • Oversee escalated client service concerns as the main point of contact.
  • Ensure efficient client scheduling and resolution of conflicts.
  • Lead daily operations to ensure timely completion of associates’ work while maintaining quality standards.
  • Foster a positive team environment through training, coaching, and recognizing exceptional contributions.
  • Conduct daily team meetings to share important information with associates.
  • Create and manage associate work schedules while ensuring accurate timekeeping and compliance with overtime rules.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with the Associate Relations Center on any associate issues or performance concerns.

Your Expertise:

  • Prior experience in customer service, supervisory, or related roles.
  • Experience managing or supervising staff.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
  • Ongoing education to meet IRS and state requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Passionate and customer-focused mindset.
  • Flexibility with work schedules and assignments based on business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

It Would Be Even Better If You Also Had:

  • Experience managing multiple units in retail, restaurant, banking, or a similar industry.
  • More than 2 years of experience as a Tax Professional.
