Tax, Trusts, & Estates Attorney We are excited to announce an opening for a Tax, Trusts, & Estates Associate at our AmLaw200 firm located in either Florida, New Jersey, or New York. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in navigating complex tax laws and estate planning to ensure optimal strategies for our clients. With a requirement for strong academic credentials and robust communication skills, this role promises a rewarding blend of challenge and opportunity, enhancing our firm's standing as an industry leader. Salary: $225,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive tax advice to our high-net-worth clients on matters including estates, trusts, and related tax implications. Design and implement sophisticated estate plans tailored to the specific needs of clients. Assist with fiduciary income tax matters and explore strategies to minimize taxes and ensure legal compliance. Analyze and interpret tax rules as they relate to estate planning and offer detailed guidance to both clients and firm leadership. Represent clients in tax audits and disputes. Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when handling complex personal and financial information. Minimum Position Qualifications: Licensed attorney with Bar admission in one or more states where our firm is located. At least 3 years of experience in a tax, trusts, or estate planning environment. Strong academic credentials in law, with a preference for an LL.M in Taxation or Estate Planning. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal and tax matters efficiently and effectively. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience at a major law firm or in a similar legal setting specializing in tax or estate planning. Expertise in drafting complex wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents. Experience in counseling clients on the formation and governance of trusts. Adaptive to new technologies used in tax law and estate planning. A strong propensity for critical thinking and problem-solving in high-pressure environments. Skills: Proficient in legal and tax research platforms such as LexisNexis or Westlaw. Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of tax law implications and strategies. Excellent client service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion. Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and clients alike.
