Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

\n

• Work 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed
\n• No weekends, no call, and no holidays required
\n• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
\n• Float within scope to PACU or PreOp units to meet facility needs
\n• Work primarily rotating between PACU and pre/post interventional radiology area within PACU unit
\n• Provide care for adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric population in Level I trauma center
\n• Recover patients from diverse surgical specialties including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant
\n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (CCRN and TNCC preferred)
\n• Must have 2 years of PACU experience in Level I trauma center (ICU experience preferred)
\n• Critical care experience required for patients with artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive drugs
\n• Skills required: dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, care of ventilated patients
\n• Experience required with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
\n• Must pass Relias EKG exam
\n• Night shift personnel must learn preop patient workup
\n• Navy blue scrubs required
\n• EPIC charting system experience preferred
\n• No more than 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
\n• Must reside at least 75 miles from facility

This healthcare facility operates as a Magnet and Teaching Hospital with Level I trauma center designation, featuring 1,273 total staffed beds. The PACU unit operates 24/7 with 38 patient bays and maintains an average daily census of 70-90 patients. The facility is a short-term acute care hospital that provides comprehensive surgical services and high-acuity post-operative care, with 80% of PACU patients being admitted to the hospital after procedures. The unit includes its own PCT/transport team and offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams.
