\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (3x12s standard, 4x12s available upon request)
\n• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 (goal is 4:1, but consistently work at 5:1 ratio)
\n• Weekend requirement: either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
\n• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
\n• Post heart surgery experience required
\n• EPIC charting system experience required
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Float required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level units
\n• 32 hours of orientation provided
\n• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
\n• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral line care
\n• Administration and management of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix - no titration)
\n• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen delivery, non-invasive airway management
\n• Remote telemetry monitoring with unit-based monitors
\n• Care for adult and geriatric patients in Open Heart/Thoracic PCU/Stepdown unit
\n• Work with trauma residents and mid-level providers in-house
\n• May work without CNA support when needed

\nThis is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and flagship medical facility serving as the region's only Level I Trauma Center. The hospital is Magnet-designated for nursing excellence and affiliated with a medical school. It features advanced specialty care including a dedicated children's hospital and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The Open Heart/Thoracic PCU serves as the stepdown unit for the ICU, with 25 beds and comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams.
