Job Description

Position Summary

As a Warehouse / Delivery Driver at Valley Lighting, you will be a key part of our logistics and operations team. You will ensure that lighting, shading, and control system products are picked, packed, loaded, and delivered to job sites accurately and on time. You will also help maintain our warehouse environment and uphold the high service standards Valley Lighting is known for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company delivery vehicles and make deliveries to construction sites, commercial properties, and partner locations.
  • Load, unload, and secure inventory items — including lighting fixtures, shading systems, control devices — using proper equipment and lifting techniques.
  • Verify order accuracy before departure: confirm item counts, packaging condition, delivery address, and required job-site details.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to pick and stage orders for delivery; assist with stocking, inventory organization, and warehouse cleanliness.
  • Perform vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any maintenance or mechanical issues promptly.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service on-site: represent Valley Lighting’s brand, assist with where-to-place items or how to unload, and communicate any issues or delays.
  • Assess delivery sites for safe access, unloading zones, and coordinate with contractors or site personnel accordingly.
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT/regulatory requirements, and best practices for warehouse operations.
  • Assist with occasional warehouse tasks such as labeling, packaging, assembly of small items, or supporting large shipments as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with Logistics/Warehouse Manager regarding delivery status, challenges, or job-site changes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license; a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and DOT physicals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with 26-foot box trucks preferred.
  • Previous experience in driving deliveries, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred (especially in the construction, commercial lighting, or building-materials environment).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing up to [50-75] lbs. (or more, depending on product size) throughout the shift.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple deliveries in a day and adapt to site changes or schedule shifts.
  • Basic familiarity with warehouse inventory systems, forklifts/pallet jacks, and safe material-handling procedures is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills — you’ll be interacting with contractors, site personnel, and our internal team.
  • Dependable, punctual, flexible (able to work occasionally early mornings, late afternoons, or overtime as project demands dictate).
  • Safety-conscious mindset and willingness to follow protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay and delivery/driver allowances (if applicable).
  • Health, dental, vision insurance (where applicable).
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Being part of a respected company with a longstanding reputation for superior service in the commercial lighting and window treatment industry.
