I was about to put up a thread for yet another great person we lost this year.  I decided to put up a list for all of the folks we lost this year.

On Christmas day we lost Eartha Kitt.  The sultry sex kitten jazz singer was 81.

NPR

A year ago she recorded an interview for NPR's The Long View feature.

I, of course, first knew her as Catwoman on that campiest of camp TV shows.

Later I learned she could sing, too.

Harold Pinter died on Christmas Eve, he did such great things with the quotidian.

His plays did have a disappointing lack of zombies though.

I Twitter. I also occasionally blog on the Escape Pod blog, which if you're here you shouldn't have much trouble finding.

Paul Newman had the honor of being on Richard Nixon's enemy list right under Daniel Shore.  It was one of the things he was most proud of.

Yeah, I heard about his passing right after I started getting into his music.  Great guitarist.
