This one's not that silly, but it's really useful: http://labs.google.com/sets
OK, stupid question here:  just what would one use it for?
Finding other examples of similar items where you can't quite put your finger on what they have in common, or don't know what the genre is called.

I typed in a couple of titles of movies that I liked, and got a short list of other movie titles. All of them were ones that I am (or had been) vaguely interested in seeing.

It did not do as well when I typed in a few titles of my favourite surf guitar tunes.

I feed The Pod.

It's also interesting seeing how, er, smart it is.

Leningrad, Allentown, and Broadway begat a list of every Billy Joel song.  I also used it to find places in Berlin to take my kids.

A Softer World is a lovely, funny website. I think it's www.asofterworld.com but it might be .org or something else. Worth your time, unless you're president.

Whee!!!

You are the bomb!  I need to assemble a trophy for our Cheap Stakes club and have been picking pennies up off the ground to use.  Now I have some ideas of how to assemble it.

Yep, R_L, I mentioned it here but that was for that specific group of panels.  The home page is http://www.asofterworld.com/.

Silly fun web game:

Broken Picture Telephone

First one person writes some text on a virtual post-it-note.  Then the next player has to use crude drawing tools (akin to virtual crayons) to draw it.  Third player describes the picture in text.  Forth draws that.  And so on.

Here's an example of a game I started, or one that features my crude art skills.

I've got a silly thread going over in the poker forum I frequent.

Ask a Mod:  The dumb question thread.

It's a public thread, so no need to join to read it.

This Boing Boing post is full of Win: Dramatic readings of message-board posts about atheism from Christian fundamentalist message boards

ETA: The linked site is even more full of win. Choice quote:
Quote from: awesomestnerd, SmashBoards [Comments (442) [2005-Nov-07
One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time became more complex. That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it. [emphasis added]

ETA: Note: Also a lot of sadness. It's funny until kids get involved.

God.  Duh.

I'd like to hear my options, so I could weigh them, what do you say?
Five pounds?  Six pounds? Seven pounds?
