So there's this British film from 2006 called "Cashback" starring Sean Biggerstaff (Oliver Wood in HP1/2). At first, I thought it would be your typical film about an art school student who breaks up with his hot girlfriend and gets insomnia so he gets a job and meets a nice and pretty girl who isn't as hot as his ex but he still likes her and in the process of working an overnight shift deals with the terribly long hours and such by dreaming that he can stop time.
Then the ending came. And I realized it was a sci-fi film after all, one about a guy whose combination of artistic instincts and overnight job lead him to discover he has the ability to put the world on pause and move in the space between seconds. In the first 1h15m of the film, it seems more like a romantic comedy. But in the last 25m, starting when Ben (the MC) tries to stop Sharon before she leaves their boss's birthday party, you suddenly think "what if........."
Anyway, not a bad film, lots of funny and unflinching bits about growing up, and the draaaaaaaag of time Ben relates when working overnight at Sainsbury's really is true -- I worked overnight radio, and the time just doesn't move. Not without the help of chatrooms.

So. A little SF. Enjoy.
