sci fi channel, what the heck is WRONG with you???

I find it ironic when Mythbusters has a warning for science content.  I'm trying to find science content on television and they are warning people like science is a danger to them.  Granted, I do know some people whose heads would explode if they actually learned anything useful. 

Yet another reason to turn off the TV and open a book or listen to a podcast.

You're not talking about their "don't try this at home" warning?  I've never seen a science warning, but I watch it off of iTunes.

I was referrring to their warning when they are about to explain some of the scientific principles behind the myths.  I know it is tongue-in-cheek, but it just grates on me that we should be afraid of knowing the scienceof what is happening.

Still, it is better than the 3.5 channels (one didn't come in very well) I had when I was growing up.

I agree with this.  I've only seen a couple of eps, but everytime I had major complaints with their methods.  The one where they tested the AC v. windows down question was especially bad.

I think the Mythbusters guys would be the first to agree with you.  But they do have budget constraints, and they have to put butts in the seats.   I still think their show is a beacon of critical thinking, even if it's not perfect.  I would rather see them shoot frozen chickens at an airplane than yet more footage of tornadoes.

I enjoy Mythbusters, but there's a reason why they get so much mail telling them they did stuff wrong.  Some of the stuff they do is really cool.  I think I would have less problems if they didn't say stuff like, "definitively busted".
